Successful Treatment of a Large Osteoid Osteoma in a Young Patient

Recently, our medical center successfully performed a radiofrequency ablation of an osteoid osteoma in a young boy with a unique tumor measuring 23 mm. Using a coaxial technique with multiple electrodes, the procedure was successful, and the patient immediately relieved pain. The following day, the boy was discharged home and returned to his normal lifestyle.

Treatment of osteoid osteomas typically involves surgical intervention, which leads to prolonged and difficult rehabilitation. However, radiofrequency ablation, which we specialize in, is much easier for patients to tolerate. With the most extensive experience in Ukraine in performing such interventions (over 30 patients), we can confidently assert the high effectiveness of this technique.
